Ingredients

  • Avanafil 200 mg

Benefits

  • Treatment of erectile dysfunction in adult men.
  • Supports achievement and maintenance of an erection during sexual stimulation.

Usage & Safety

For Adult

  • Usual starting dose: 100 mg taken approximately 15–30 minutes before sexual activity.
  • The dose may be increased to 200 mg or reduced to 50 mg according to effectiveness and tolerability; this 200 mg strength should be used only as directed by a healthcare professional.
  • Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours.
  • Sexual stimulation is required for the medicine to work.
  • Avoid excessive alcohol because it may increase dizziness, low blood pressure, and difficulty achieving an erection.
  • Use lower or less frequent dosing when clinically appropriate with certain CYP3A4 inhibitors or in significant liver or kidney disease.

For Children

  • Not indicated for children or adolescents under 18 years.
  • Safety and effectiveness have not been established in pediatric patients.
  • No pediatric weight-based dose is recommended.

Side Effects

  • Common effects include headache, facial flushing, nasal congestion, nasopharyngitis, dizziness, and back pain.
  • Indigestion, nausea, or temporary visual disturbance may occur.
  • Serious allergic reactions may include rash, swelling of the face or throat, and difficulty breathing.
  • Rare but serious effects include prolonged erection, sudden loss of vision, sudden loss of hearing, fainting, chest pain, or severe low blood pressure.

Contraindications

  • Do not use with nitrate medicines, including nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, or isosorbide mononitrate, because of the risk of severe, potentially life-threatening low blood pressure.
  • Do not use with riociguat or other soluble guanylate cyclase stimulators.
  • Do not use in patients with a known allergy to avanafil or any tablet ingredient.
  • Do not use when sexual activity is inadvisable because of serious cardiovascular disease unless specifically cleared by a physician.
  • Use caution with low blood pressure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, recent stroke or heart attack, serious heart disease, severe liver disease, or severe kidney impairment.
  • Seek urgent medical care for an erection lasting longer than 4 hours, sudden vision loss, or sudden hearing loss.

Precautions & Warnings

  • Do not combine with nitrates, recreational nitrites such as amyl nitrite, or riociguat.
  • Avoid strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, clarithromycin, and similar medicines unless specifically managed by a physician.
  • Moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors, alpha-blockers, blood-pressure medicines, and other vasodilators may increase the risk of low blood pressure and may require dose adjustment.
  • Do not combine with other PDE5 inhibitors or other erectile-dysfunction treatments unless prescribed by a specialist.
  • Grapefruit or grapefruit juice may increase avanafil exposure and should be avoided or discussed with a healthcare professional.
  • Excessive alcohol may increase dizziness, low blood pressure, and heart-rate effects.

Pregnancy

  • Avanafil is not indicated for use in women and is not used to treat erectile dysfunction in females.
  • There is no established therapeutic use during pregnancy.
  • It is not intended for breastfeeding women; consult a healthcare professional if exposure occurs.
