Product Overview

Adapco Gel 15gm contains adapalene 0.1% topical gel. It is used to treat mild to moderate acne by normalising skin cell turnover and reducing inflammation. Available for delivery across Pakistan.

Key Benefits

  • Reduces blackheads, whiteheads and pimples.
  • Lowers skin inflammation and redness.
  • Improves skin texture with regular use.
  • Generally better tolerated than older topical retinoids.

Directions for Use

  • Clean and dry the affected area before application.
  • Apply a thin layer once daily, preferably at night.
  • Start with every-other-night use if skin is sensitive, then increase to nightly as tolerated.
  • Use a gentle cleanser and non-comedogenic moisturizer to reduce irritation.
  • Apply sunscreen during the day and avoid excessive sun exposure.

Adults

  • For most adults: use once daily at night as above.
  • If severe irritation occurs, reduce frequency or stop and consult a doctor.

Children (Paediatric)

  • Use in adolescents is commonly established for acne.
  • Use in younger children is not well established; follow a doctor’s advice for paediatric patients.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

  • Pregnant women should use this medicine only on a doctor’s advice.
  • Topical absorption is low, but routine use in pregnancy is not generally recommended without medical approval.

Pregnancy

Safety data do not show clear evidence of birth defects with topical adapalene, but definitive pregnancy categories vary. Use only if advised by your doctor.

Breastfeeding

  • Adapalene has not been well studied during breastfeeding.
  • Apply to the smallest area needed and avoid breast skin contact; consult your doctor before use.

Precautions

  • For external use only.
  • Avoid eyes, lips, nostrils and mucous membranes.
  • Do not use on broken, peeling or sunburned skin.
  • Expect mild redness, dryness or flaking during the first weeks.
  • Stop use and see a doctor if severe irritation or allergy occurs.
  • Use sunscreen; product may increase sun sensitivity.
  • Avoid waxing and aggressive skin treatments while using this gel.

Major Drug & Product Interactions

  • Increased irritation if used with other topical retinoids or strong topical acne preparations.
  • Caution when combined with abrasive cleansers, astringents, chemical peels or waxing.
  • No significant systemic drug interactions expected.

Adverse Effects

  • Most adverse effects are local and related to skin irritation.
  • If severe reaction, discontinue use and seek medical help.

Common Side Effects

  • Mild burning or stinging.
  • Redness, dryness or peeling.
  • Itching or slight swelling in treated areas.

Serious Side Effects

  • Severe rash, widespread blistering or intense swelling of face/lips.
