Side Effects

• Potassium supplements, potassium-containing salt substitutes, spironolactone, amiloride, triamterene, and other potassium-sparing medicines may increase the risk of high potassium.

• Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, and naproxen may reduce the blood-pressure-lowering effect and increase kidney risk.
• Lithium levels may increase; combined use requires close medical monitoring.
• Alcohol and other medicines that lower blood pressure may increase dizziness or low blood pressure.
• Food does not usually prevent absorption, but take it consistently with or without food.
